Huggins and Haggland Scholarship for Continuing Education


To assist individual ONA members with continuing education by providing money in the form of stipends. Applicants may be eligible for one stipend of up to $125 every year for registration for traditional classroom or online continuing education courses. These stipends are available year round.


Continuing education workshops, conferences, or nursing education (ONA Convention and NPO Education Conference are ineligible). Not awarded for formal program of study.


Any ONA member, including members of the ONF Board.


  1. For traditional classroom continuing education. Each applicant may be eligible for one stipend of up to $125 every (1) year for registration. Priority will be given to first time applicants, or to those who haven’t received a stipend in two years.
  2. For online education, the applicant may be eligible for the cost of registration only of up to $125.
  3. Qualified applications are processed on a first come basis.


Application is made by completing the ONF Huggins and Haggland Scholarship Continuing Education Request Form. The form must include a statement about how the offering relates to the applicant’s practice. A program brochure and registration verification must accompany all application forms. Applications are reviewed on a first come basis. Upon completion of the CE offering, applicants are required to submit proof of attendance (i.e., CE certificate).
