The ONF-Smith Education Scholarship was established through the contribution of Milton F. Smith of Roseburg. The endowment fund is administered by ONF. Scholarships are typically given in the amount of $1,000 to individuals enrolled in undergraduate baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs. A subcommittee of the ONA Cabinet on Education recommends individuals for award to the ONF Board.
This year, scholarships will be given in the amount of $1,000 to individual students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate nursing program.
The critical elements that the application review committee will evaluate are commitment to nursing practice in Oregon; leadership abilities and experiences; experiences with other cultures, minority groups, and underserved populations; and explanation of need for scholarship funds.
Scholarship winners will be notified once all of the applications are reviewed.
